Malaysian Recipes - Nasi Goreng - Fried Rice with Prawns

This Recipe is especially at the request of Derrick Gawne.

Ingredients
  • 3 Rice Bowls of cooked Rice
  • 4 oz Prawns,(shelled and de-veined)
  • 2 Tablespoons Green Peas
  • 1 Tablespoon Spring Onions (chopped)
  • 4 Onions (sliced)
  • 1 Red Chili (sliced)
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespooon light Soya Sauce
  • 5 Tablespoons Cooking Oil
  • Dash of Pepper
  • Method
    1) Heat 3 Tablespoons Cooking Oil in pan. When hot, fry onions until slightly brown.
    2) Put in prawns and stir until colour changes.
    3) Add in green peas, salt, pepper and stir quickly.
    4) Remove and leave on one side.

    5) Heat 2 Tablespoons Cooking Oil in pan. Pour in egg and fry.
    6) Put in Rice,Prawns and Green Peas and stir.
    7) Sprinkle in Soya Sauce and stir well.
    8) Fry Rice, stirring briskly for 5-10 minutes.
    9) Garnish with Spring Onions and Chillies. Serve Hot.
